This week saw a slew of new teaser, trailers, castings and announcements. As always here on BSS the focus was heavily on Comic Book Movies . Lets recap shall we.
Jake Johnson and Annabelle Wallis have joined Universal´s so called The Mummy reboot.
Johnson will play a military character ( LOL, to make Tom Cruise look like a real man ) and Wallis will play an archaeologist ( LOL, eye candy ) They join Xenu-lover Tom Cruise , and actress Sofia Boutella who reportedly is playing The Mummy ( Djeezes )
The storyline is to be set in modern day for no good reason, with Cruise’s character to be a special forces soldier. Of course he is special forces. Those guys are always raiding ancient egyptian tombs.
The Mummy is directed by Alex Kurtzman (another Red Flag ) and is set to be released on June 9, 2017
So Universal is set to make another ” Sexy Monster “. They don´t seem to understand that these iconic characters are HORROR MONSTERS . And that will be the demise of their Cinematic Universe i think. And that’s just my opinion of course. But I don´t understand why they can’t go all out HORROR. I mean the SAW franchise went over the top, balls out, and made a helluva lot of money. It can be done. Now I’m not saying it should be torture porn, but I’m not really exited about Tom Cruise fucking a beautiful “archeologist ” while being chased by a sexy MILF . That’s not the Mummy I want to see. Or, to put it another way, that’s not something I will PAY to see.
Drone Warfare. End of the Fighter Pilot Era . Volleyball Rematch
Top Gun 2 has been in development for almost five years now. When the project was first being revived, Tom Cruise was planning to return for a small role. Since then, the project has ballooned, and Cruise will have a starring role in the sequel.
At a press junket in Berlin on Thursday, David Ellison, CEO of production company Skydance, confirmed a shooting script is in development – and the film WILL feature troubled fighter pilot Maverick, originally played by Cruise.
‘Justin Marks is writing the screenplay right now,’ he confirmed. ‘He has a phenomenal take to really update that world for what fighter pilots in the Navy has turned into today.
He added: ‘It is very much a world we live in today where it’s drone technology and fifth generation fighters … It’s really exploring the end of an era of dogfighting and fighter pilots and what that culture is today.’
Ellison went into more detail about what he meant when he talked about what the Navy has become and how it relates to Maverick:
“Absolutely, I think this is a movie that should be in 3-D and in IMAX, and again something that you can shoot practically. As everyone knows with Tom, he is 100% going to want to be in those airplanes shooting it practically. When you look at the world of dogfighting, what’s interesting about it is that it’s not a world that exists to the same degree when the original movie came out. This world has not been explored. It is very much a world we live in today where it’s drone technology and fifth generation fighters are really what the United States Navy is calling the last man-made fighter that we’re actually going to produce so it’s really exploring the end of an era of dogfighting and fighter pilots and what that culture is today are all fun things that we’re gonna get to dive into in this movie.”
Top Gun made superstars of Tom Cruise and co-star Val Kilmer following its release in May, 1986.
Put together with a budget of $15 million, the film raked in an estimated $353,816,701 worldwide, making it the highest grossing film of that year.
In Rogue Nation, Ethan and the team take on another convoluted mission . This time its going up against the Syndicate – an International rogue organization that is blatant rip off of 007 baddies SPECTRE. Fuck this hack writers !! And Tom Cruise uses slave labor via his cult Scientology . No kidding.

The Highlander never needed a reboot. Its a great film, and one of my personal favourites. The news of the reboot was tough. When i heard that …. whats his name?? The pizza guy. Not funny. I seriously cant remember his name. He was in that Wolverine movie were they sowed his mouth shut .. Anyway his name was attached to it, so i died a little more inside.
Today the news is that Tom Cruise , all 4 feet two inches of him is now being mentioned to play a character similar to the immortal Juan Sánchez Villa-Lobos Ramírez, played in the 1986 original by the equally-immortal Sean Connery. I hope he says no to this. Do Mission Impossible 17 instead. That would be more original.
Now the only similarity of course is that Tom Cruise is older than that guy i forgot the name of. Thats were it ends. It wouldnt surprise me if the immortals in this new film are revealed to have been sent here from outer space as some sort of punishment 😉 Get it. Highlander 2/ Xenu –… ok then. So, fuck this reboot, and go see the original film starring Christopher Lambert !!
I freaking love the Kurgan, played by Clancy Brown. The reboot might cast Seth Rogen in that role…..
