Wonder Woman has been pushed up by two weeks, and two new films have been added to the DC/Warners slate. The new lineup is as follows.
Hello all. I attended a midnight screening of Batman V Superman : Dawn of Justice. And I have somewhat calmed myself down enough to write about it…..
Continuing the promotional wars Warner Bros have released a new featurette for Turkish Airline´s BATMAN v SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE , starring Oscar Winner Ben Affleck as Batman and Oscar Viewer Henry Cavill as Superman
Warner Brothers is aiming to begin production for SUICIDE SQUAD 2 in 2017. The buzz for SS is pretty high, and WB must have faith in the franchise if they are setting up the sequel shoot before earning a single dollar.
As we have seen all to often as of late, the studios change these plans very frequently. And with a cast like SS has it can’t be easy to schedule all these players , and make it fit everyone’s calendar. That said, I would be surprised if the whole squad makes it out of the first film alive.
SUICIDE SQUAD hits theaters on August 5, 2016
But first things last. The premiere of Turkish Airlines : Batman V Superman is creeping ever closer, and WB is in high promotion mode. They recently released yet another tv spot for the film.
Directed by Zack Snyder , the film stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Jesse Eisenberg, Jeremy Irons, Holly Hunter, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne, Diane Lane, Jason Momoa, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Scoot McNairy, Callan Mulvey, and Tao Okamoto.
BATMAN v SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE premieres March 25, 2016.
Adding to the build up for DC’s BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE, the Desperate Competition has released 5 prequel comics which offer some backstory, since the movie does not have time to do so.
I’ve embedded all five of the comics below for your reading pleasure:
BATMAN V SUPERMAN V CAVE TROLL V DARKSEID: DAWN OF JUSTICE opens on March 25.
Now we wait…….
The Desperate Competition is really gearing up its PR campaign. Following the new trailer for the SUICIDE SQUAD, they have now released the first footage from their Wonder Woman feature film.
Starring Gal Gadot, and Chris Pine, the movie is slated for release on June 23 , 2017.
Here is a new Wonder Woman photo showing off the Amazons from the upcoming film, including first looks at Diana’s mother, Queen Hippolyta (Connie Nielsen), and her two aunts General Antiope (Robin Wright) and Antiope’s lieutenant, Menalippe (Lisa Loven Kongsli).
“Themyscira is influenced by the Greek but it’s clearly more then that,” producer Charles Roven tells the outlet. “It’s a place that has the ‘you’ve never been to’ kind of feel. But once you’re there you’re not so sure you really want to leave so fast.”
“To me, they shouldn’t be dressed in armor like men,” director Patty Jenkins says of their armor. “It should be different. It should be authentic and real—and appealing to women.”
Starring Gal Gadot as the title hero, Wonder Woman also stars Robin Wright (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Netflix’s “House of Cards”), Danny Huston (Clash of the Titans, X-Men Origins: Wolverine), David Thewlis (the “Harry Potter” films, The Theory of Everything), Ewen Bremner (Exodus: Gods and Kings, Snowpiercer), Saïd Taghmaoui (American Hustle), Elena Anaya (The Skin I Live In) Connie Nielsen (Gladiator, Nymphomaniac: Vol. I) and Lucy Davis (Shaun of the Dead).
Now Im the first to admit that I don’t know what’s going on in this new Batman V Superman clip. I see in the comment sections ( Not mine own mind you ) that a lot of people seem sure that it’s all a dream sequence . That for some reason Bruce Wayne dreams of a desert where Superman reigns supreme. A place where he is fighting Superman followers and is beaten and captured by them. Tied up and unmasked by Superman. At what point do these people expect Bruce to wake up ?
It could be a nightmare, sure, or a “Knightmare” as this toy suggests
But I’m not buying that. Not the toy, and not that this is some elaborate 20min dream sequence. I see the fans pointing out that “Superman would never ” etc bla bla bla about the whole thing, and I am inclined to agree that he would never act like this. I don’t think he likes the guys bowing to him at all. But then again we do see him kneeling before Lex Luthor also
and he looks none too pleased about it. Is this a dream ? If he was under some kind of mind control he might not be so pissed. He wouldn’t know would he ? And we know that Luthor has the green stuff also.
If he is indeed somehow being coerced by Luthor , that makes more sense to me than the whole evil Superman, dream sequence idea. A better question would be to ask why Batman is in the desert in the first place. Is he looking for something. Or someone ? Is this connected to Wonder Woman ? If say, you captured this guy :
Where would you imprison him ? In a dream sequence no doubt !!
Sure it could all be an elaborate dream of the coming future. But why is Batman not older then ? Is he dreaming of next year ? Why a desert ? I just can’t seem to grasp the notion that it’s all a dream. He has to be there, wherever it is , for a reason . There must be a reason why the place is so heavily guarded.
I’m sure all will be revealed in due time. Perhaps even in the new trailer which debuts later this week on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
Batman seems to be at a real low point here. He’s in his darkest hour. If you’re a friend of his, reach out. He needs to hear he’s loved! Send him some love at email@example.com
Until next time……
I wonder what Bruce did to make Superman so pissed. Did he do the nasty with Lois ?? Who knows. A brand new trailer is said to be coming this wednesday on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
