Jurassic World 2 Is Happening Because $$$$$$$

Jurassic World is currently the third highest-grossing movie EVER—so of course they were gonna make a Jurassic World sequel.
Personally I thought the movie was a long wet piece of shit. The tame raptors. The stupid kids, and the whole idiotic notion that they would make the same mistakes that the original park did over again. It just does not sit well with me. So of course money rules the world, and Im sure that they come up with some genius way of re-opening the park. Im sure all the families of the all the dead guests will get a free ticket, or at least get on the fast track for the new waterslides or whatever. Or maybe they just reboot The Lost World and its some mission to retrieve some Mcguffen ? Who cares.  As long as they hire a guy to keep track on the continuity this time, because whoever had that job on Jurassic World was a piece of shit loser.Steven Spielberg will executive produce again with Colin Trevorrow and Derek Connolly on the script as well. The smart money says Trevorrow will not be directing. The hot rumor is that he will be announced as the director of Star Wars Episode 9. Possibly at the Disney D23 Expo in August  . And yes, Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard will star again, so we can see more of that nice rack. Lets face it, why any of them would go back to that island is beyond me. The characters i mean. But like I said, Im sure the writers will think long and hard to make it all make sense……….  Yeah. Just get Goldblum back, and it will all sort itself out from there. The sequel is set for release June  2018

The late James Horner secretly wrote a score for Antoine Fuqua’s The Magnificent Seven

Last month composer James Horner tragically died in a plane crash . Having composed scores for over a hundred motion pictures, it seemed like the scores for the upcoming SOUTHPAW , and “The 33 ” would be all she wrote so to say for the late great Horner.

But there’s some great news today regarding what appears to be Horner’s very last score as director Antoine Fuqua told NPR (via that, in addition to scoring his latest, Southpaw, Horner secretly composed a score for Fuqua’s upcoming remake of The Magnificent Seven .

“I just found out a few days ago,” Fuqua says, “Horner’s team flew out here, to Baton Rouge, and they brought me all the music for ‘The Magnificent Seven’. He already wrote it for me based on the script. He did it all off the script because he wanted to surprise me. I thought it was a gift or something. And they all came out here and said, ‘Antoine, James wrote the music for ‘Magnificent Seven’ already and it’s just glorious.’”

Now that is some kickass news indeed. Albeit it doesn’t make Horners tragic death any less of a blow to the gut. Personally Ive been listening to his music a lot lately. It started just two days after he died. I was going through his LONG list of scores, and I started listening to the score he made for 1982s Star Trek The Wrath of Khan on YOUTUBE . Now what happened was ,I was gonna listen to the score from ALIENS next, so at around the 3 min 20 seconds mark of the Star Trek score I opened the ALIENS score in another tab. Well you can guess what happened . That damn ALIENS score automatically kicked in. Now usually I would be quick to turn one track off, but the damnedest thing was , these two scores seemed like they were made to be together.  Maybe Im full of shit here, but I downloaded both tracks, laid them on top of each other and called that The Wrath of Aliens score. And Ive played that sucker through about 6 times since then, and I absolutely dig it.  I tried to upload it on BSS , but the file size was to big.  Anyway, If you wanna check it out, do what i did. Click on the YouTube link. Start the Wrath score, and at the 3min20sec mark  start the ALIENS score. You’ll find out what I’m talking about soon enough.

Back to The Magnificent Seven

Originally drafted by  Nic Pizzolatto , and since rewritten by John Lee Hancock, The Magnificent Seven will star Ethan Hawke, Denzel Washington, Chris Pratt, Vincent D’Onofrio, Haley Bennett, Byung Hun Lee, Jason Momoa, Matt Bomer, Peter Sarsgaard and Billy Slaughter in a remake the 1960 film directed by John Sturges that itself was inspired by Akira Kurosawa’s 1954 classic Seven Samurai. Sturges’ version starred Yul Brynner, Steve McQueen, Charles Bronson, James Coburn and Robert Vaughn as a group of disparate gunmen who come together to protect a Mexican village from bandits led by Eli Wallach. The new film is said to feature a victimized mining town, taken over by a gold baron (Sarsgaard), rather than the Mexican village of the original. Because you know…. PC bullshit.

I eagerly await to hear the score by Horner. Which I believe is his first Western score since I guess  1991s An American Tail: Fievel Goes West 😉  Yiha etc

“James was an incredible human being.  He was a filmmaker through and through. He was one of the most gentle people I’ve ever met. Even the way he spoke was very soft and thoughtful. He was magical. He had this childlike wonderment in his eyes, but he was an amazing artist, an amazing poet. I loved him and we became friends.”-Antoine Fuqua on James Horner

The Magnificent Seven is slated for a January 13, 2017 release while Southpaw arrives in theaters this Friday, July 24.

Chris Pratt to play a Cowboy Ninja Viking

The star of Parks And Recreation, soon to be seen in Jurassic World, has now chosen his next role, and it is another comic book franchise. He’ll star as lead assassin Duncan in Universal’s Cowboy Ninja Viking. What a title!!

Created by writer A. J. Lieberman and artist Riley Rossmo, Cowboy Ninja Viking is an Image Comics series about secret counter-intelligence agents with multiple personality disorders. Various suitable candidates for the ‘Triplet’ programme were brought together by psychotherapist Dr. Sebastian Ghislain, but when the project collapsed, the subjects went their own ways as hired assassins.

Pratt’s Duncan will not be an actual Cowboy Ninja Viking: those are the personality types that have been corralled in his mind for maximum effectiveness . Other characters we encounter in the comic series include Duncan’s brother Carl (Staff Sergeant – Apache – Highlander); Steed Malbranque* (Hitman – Navy SEAL – Dokken roadie); Lara St. Britt (Air Hostess – Joan Of Arc – Amazon); and Grear Fulkirk, whose Sniper – Chef – Martial Artist designation surely makes him Seagal in Under Siege.

The movie has been in the works for some time. The comics were first published in 2009 and as early as 2010 Disney had the Zombieland team of Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese working on an adaptation. That version went into turnaround in 2012, and Universal picked it up when Disney dropped it, choosing Marc Forster (Quantum Of Solace, World War Z) to direct.

Forster is no longer attached, meaning the director’s chair is currently vacant. The IMDb lists Craig Mazin (The Hangover trilogy, Scary Movie 3 and 4) as a writer along with Wernick and Reese, but whether any of those drafts remain in play is unclear. Mark Gordon (Source Code, TV’s Criminal Minds) is producing.
