Netflix released Daredevil Season 2 this Friday, and I spent the weekend watching all 13 episodes. The show continues the story of Matt Murdock as he struggles to  juggle his personal life and job as a small time defence lawyer, with his night time alter ego as the crime fighting vigilante Daredevil. If you have not seen the show, I recommend you do so before reading on. I try avoiding major spoilers, but I do touch on a few things that warrant a spoiler warning. So : SPOILER WARNING

Marvel’s Daredevil Season 2 Trailer Part 2

daredevil-s2-header

This new season has A LOT to live up to, and I hope they don´t disappoint. Another season of this show needs no selling point where I’m concerned, but the addition of the vigilante “mad man” The Punisher has me even more revved up for the continuation of the show.

Marvel’s Daredevil season two sees the return of Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson, Scott Glenn as Stick and Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple. The new season will also see Jon Bernthal debut as Frank Castle (aka the Punisher) with Elodie Yung also set to appear, playing Elektra Natchios.

The first season was a helluva fun ride. It’s a show I highly recommend everyone to watch.  A great story, with great performances by every single actor and actress .  This new season has A LOT to live up to, and I hope they don´t disappoint.  Another season of this show  needs no selling point where I’m concerned, but the addition of the vigilante “mad man” The Punisher has me even more revved up for the continuation of the show.

Marvel has announced today that Elodie Yung (G.I. Joe: Retaliation, District 13: Ultimatum) has joined the cast of Daredevil. Yung will play Elektra, a woman from Matt Murdock’s past .

The first season of Daredevil made reference to Elektra, but now Yung will portray one of Daredevil’s fan-favorite characters.

Elektra marks the most recent major addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as she will join Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle in the upcoming season of the Netflix Original Series.

“After a worldwide search, we found in Elodie the perfect actress to embody both Elektra’s impressive and deadly physicality, as well as her psychological complexity,” said Executive Producer and Head of Marvel Television, Jeph Loeb in a statement today. “Paired with Charlie as Matt Murdock, the two will bring one of the most beloved and tumultuous comic book relationships to life with all the accompanying sparks and spectacular action sequences the show is known for.”

Blinded as a young boy but imbued with extraordinary senses, Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) fights against injustice by day as a lawyer, and by night as Daredevil in modern day Hell’s Kitchen, New York City. Daredevil also stars Charlie Cox, Deborah Ann Woll, Elden Henson, Jon Bernthal, and Rosario Dawson.

What say you Benders ??  Are they going to far ? Jumping The Shark ??  Kingpin, Elektra, and Punisher ? And they have to have Foggy and Karen for some reason. And what about the HAND. Are they not pissed that Nobu got killed?? And what about Stick and his clan ?  Will 13 episodes be enough for all this ??  Sound off. Like and retweet. Comment below etc

Charlie Cox talks Season 2 of Marvel’s Daredevil

daredevilseason2

Just shy of two weeks  after “Marvel’s Daredevil” premiered on Netflix, the streaming service ordered a second season for The Man Without Fear to premiere in 2016.  The star of the show Charlie Cox admits that he doesn’t know what they plan on doing but he has some wishes for what characters he hopes to see:

“I have to be careful because we just got commissioned so I have no idea who is going to turn up,” Cox said. “Based on the show we’ve created, which is very grounded in reality, I’d like to see Punisher maybe show up, a little bit of Elektra maybe. I wouldn’t mind Black Widow making an appearance, and you can’t think about Daredevil for too long without thinking of Bullseye. I don’t know when or if or how that would happen, but it’d be cool if it did.”

Cox also opened up about what he thinks the shooting and release schedule will be for the series, which he imagines will coincide with another of the “Defenders” shows.

“We’ll begin shooting in the second half of the year. It’ll be the same timeline as the last show, so season two will come out about this time next year. Again, I’m imagining all this, but they’ll probably do Iron Fist or Luke Cage at the same time, followed by the other one [of the two] in the first half of 2016 and then maybe Defenders in the second half of 2016 or the beginning of 2017….What’s exciting is to have a season where [Matt Murdock] is really embodying his alter-ego before we get to the Defenders.”

“Marvel’s Daredevil” stars Charlie Cox (Matt Murdock), Deborah Ann Woll (Karen Page), Elden Henson (Foggy Nelson), Rosario Dawson (Claire Temple), Bob Gunton (Leland Owlsely aka The Owl), Vondie Curtis Hall (Ben Urich), Toby Leonard Moore (Wesley, Wilson Fisk’s right hand man), Ayelet Zurer (Vanessa Fisk), and Vincent D’Onofrio (Wilson Fisk).

The series follows the journey of Matt Murdock, who was blinded as a young boy but imbued with extraordinary senses, now fighting against injustice by day as a lawyer, and by night as the super hero Daredevil in modern day Hell’s Kitchen, New York City.

I wouldn’t bring The Punisher on without having a pretty clear plan for the character. I mean don’t just cast some dude for a one off appearance. Punisher deserves his own RATED R tv show at this point.
