According to my non existent sources , the negotiations between Tatum and the studio did hit a snag late last month, but there was never any real danger of it not moving forward. Fox are desperate to make their Marvel movies work and Channing used that to get the money he wanted. Its being said now that Channings commitment to this role could possibly last more than a decade, much like how Hugh Jackman has appeared in many X-Men and solo films as Wolverine. Lets just hope they don´t rape the Gambit character like they i with Wolverine .
No one can fault Channing for taking advantage of FOXs stupidity. They paraded him out at Comic Con , and even took official photos of him with the rest of the X-Men cast. All before he had signed on officially. They made it easy for him to make a play for more money. Fuck FOX for being as stupid as they are.
Rise of the Planet of the Apes helmer Rupert Wyatt will direct Gambit. Josh Zemuter wrote the script, based on a treatment by Chris Claremont. Tatum, Reid Carolin, Lauren Shuler Donner and Simon Kinberg are producing.
The film is planned to start shooting in October for an October 7, 2016 release. The movie will follow X-Men spinoff Deadpool on February 15, 2016 and X-Men: Ivan Ooze on May 27, 2016.
News that Channing Tatum is exiting the upcoming X-Men spinoff Gambit broke today. The film was planned to start filming in October. The rumor is that Tatum heard about the plans to do a X-Men/Fantastic Four crossover and said FUCK THAT HACKER DOOM bullshit.
Rise of the Planet of the Apes helmer Rupert Wyatt is attached to direct the film ,with casting reports coming in as recently as yesterday. Tatum had reportedly been involved with screentests for the fim’s female lead.
With a screenplay by Josh Zetumer (RoboCop), Gambit was to be produced by Tatum and his creative partner Reid Carolin, along with X-Men franchise stewards Simon Kinberg and Lauren Shuler Donner. What happens now is unclear, but I for one am happy as fuck that the FOX Marvel movies are hitting potholes like this. Fuck fox.
Currently, Gambit is scheduled for release October 7, 2016, planned to follow X-Men spinoff Deadpool on February 15 and X-Men: Apocalypse on May 27.
The trailer for what promises to be 2015’s biggest stripping-related film, ‘Magic Mike XXL’ has arrived, in all its breakdancing, trouser-tearing glory.
My only problem with this trailer is the lack of Kevin Nash. We need more Big Daddy Cool !!
It was first confirmed in July 2012 that a sequel to the original ‘Magic Mike’ film – which proved to be a surprise hit when it was first released – was being made, though several of the film’s original cast are returning for the second film.
Heart-throb Alex Pettyfer won’t be appearing in ‘Magic Mike XXL’, and neither will Matthew McConaughey (funny that, him having an Oscar now and everything…).
Instead, the film will see Channing – as leading man ‘Magic’ Mike – hitting the road for a stripping convention, and from the looks of this trailer, it’s going to be an eye-popping experience.
The poster for the film was unveiled earlier this week, and sees a shirtless (of course) Channing pointing to the date the film is “coming” to cinemas… or at least we think that’s what he’s pointing at.
‘Magic Mike XXL’ will hit cinemas this July.
The first poster has just arrived for the upcoming Magic Mike sequel, Magic Mike XXL.
Returning stars Channing Tatum, Matt Bomer, Joe Manganiello, KEVIN NASH !!!, Adam Rodriguez and Gabriel Iglesias will be joined by newcomers Elizabeth Banks (The Hunger Games franchise), Donald Glover (“Community”), Amber Heard (The Rum Diary), Andie MacDowell (Footloose), Jada Pinkett Smith (“Gotham”) and Michael Strahan (“Live with Kelly and Michael”) with Emmy Award winner Gregory Jacobs (Behind the Candelabra), who served as a producer on Magic Mike, directing and producing.
Picking up the story three years after Mike bowed out of the stripper life at the top of his game, Magic Mike XXL finds the remaining Kings of Tampa likewise ready to throw in the towel. But they want to do it their way: burning down the house in one last blow-out performance in Myrtle Beach, and with legendary headliner Magic Mike sharing the spotlight with them. On the road to their final show, with whistle stops in Jacksonville and Savannah to renew old acquaintances and make new friends, Mike and the guys learn some new moves and shake off the past in surprising ways.
I actually really liked the first one, although it could have had a bit more scenes with Kevin Nash. Big Sexy is da man yo.
