Every year around this time It starts again. The studios send out their screeners in hopes that they will get the award votes. And each year these screener copies find their way online. And it is a happy time for cinephiles everywhere.
I must admit, I had given up on the Hollywood Silly Season leaks. Because every year for at least ten years back, there has always been a leak before December 16th. You probably remember last year’s spree of screeners released by the Hive-CM8 group. Oh what a time it was.
Later it was alleged that the leak came from the talent agency Innovative Artists which was later sued by Warner Bros.
This year, however, things have been completely dead on the screener front. Many have been sent out off for review, but the first have yet to leak to the public……
A new international Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice Tv Spot has been released. I showcases a lot of the same footage from the previous trailers, but there are also a few added clips which has not been seen before.
Warner Brothers is aiming to begin production for SUICIDE SQUAD 2 in 2017. The buzz for SS is pretty high, and WB must have faith in the franchise if they are setting up the sequel shoot before earning a single dollar.
As we have seen all to often as of late, the studios change these plans very frequently. And with a cast like SS has it can’t be easy to schedule all these players , and make it fit everyone’s calendar. That said, I would be surprised if the whole squad makes it out of the first film alive.
SUICIDE SQUAD hits theaters on August 5, 2016
But first things last. The premiere of Turkish Airlines : Batman V Superman is creeping ever closer, and WB is in high promotion mode. They recently released yet another tv spot for the film.
Directed by Zack Snyder , the film stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Jesse Eisenberg, Jeremy Irons, Holly Hunter, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne, Diane Lane, Jason Momoa, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Scoot McNairy, Callan Mulvey, and Tao Okamoto.
BATMAN v SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE premieres March 25, 2016.
A new international Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice trailer has arrived .
Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice comes to theaters on March 25, 2016.
Fearing the actions of a god-like Super Hero left unchecked, Gotham City’s own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis’s most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it’s ever known before.
Directed by Zack Snyder and written by Chris Terrio from a screenplay by David S. Goyer, Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice stars Henry Cavill in the role of Clark Kent/Superman and Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne/Batman. The film also stars Gal Gadot as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman, with Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane returning from Man of Steel, joined by Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Jeremy Irons as Alfred, and Holly Hunter in a role newly created for the film. Jason Momoa will also be making an appearance as Seaman !!
She has been attached to the project for years, but now the five-time Academy Award nominee Amy Adams is finally set to star as Janis Joplin in a big screen biopic, directed by fellow Academy Award nominee Jean-Marc Vallee.
Joplin, who rose to fame in the late ’60s (first as the lead singer of Big Brother and the Holding Company and later as a solo artist), had her life tragically cut short at age 27 due to a heroin overdose. The film was, at one point titled Get It While You Can after Joplin’s iconic cover version of the Howard Tate song. “Get It While You Can” was one of three hit singles the year following Joplin’s death, alongside “Cry Baby” and “Me and Bobby McGee.”
Scripted by Ron and Theresa Terry, the project was at one time eyed by Precious helmer Lee Daniels.
This could be really good me thinks. Can Amy Adams sing by the way ?? She better fucking be able to sing !!
Big Eyes trailer.
A film that looks nothing like a Tim Burton film. No Johnny Depp. No Mrs Burton. There is even sunshine in this film. What what what !! This will be Burton’s first stab at a true story film since Ed Wood in 1994
Starring Amy Adams as Margaret, single mother, and painter whose signature style of painting is the oversized eyes she gives her figures. She meets and marries Walter Keane (Christoph Waltz), and he suggests trying to sell the paintings under his name, because nobody is interested in buying art made by a woman. Duh, it’s the 50s.
When the paintings and subsequent loads of merchandise based on her work becomes massively popular, Margaret finds the lie becoming harder and harder to live with.
Check it out.
There is early Oscar buzz around this one. I can´t see it judging by the trailer alone, but its Amy Adams and Christoph Waltz. Oscar loves these two.
Still, early days. I can´t wait for Hollywood silly season when all of Ellen DeGeneres dvd screeners are leaked online.
Co-starring Krysten Ritter, Terrence Stamp ( KNEEL !!!), Jason Schwartzman and Danny Huston, Big Eyes will released around christmas. Ho ho ho.
