The New Trailer For WESTWORLD Season 2

These Violent Delights

WestWorld season 1 was an absolute joy to watch. Speculation as to what the hell was going on was just as fun as watching the show. When the series was first announced I was luke warm to the whole idea, but I was quickly proven wrong on my skepticism, as it turned out to be the best new show that year. Its been a long wait, but finally we have  some new glimpses into what to expect from season 2.

Have Violent Ends

The first season ended with an all out revolt against the makers by the androids in the park. Dolores (Evan Rachel Wood) executed Dr Ford ( Anthony Hopkins ) and led an android uprising against the Delos employees who had gathered in the park. This all set Ford’s final narrative “Journey Into Night ” in motion, and that is where season 2 will begin.

Future World And Beyond

An interesting note from one of the early teasers for season 2 was an entry in the Delos website where one entry read  “Westworld grew from a singular theme park into an entire constellation of entertainment havens”. We already saw evidence of Samurai World, but how many parks there actually are at Delos remains to be seen. The original film had Medieval World, Roman World and Westworld. With Future World being added in the sequel. Will all these parks be featured in the series ? Who knows how many seasons the show will run for. As long as they keep up the same level of quality as season 1, they can go on for a very long time.

Westworld will return on April 22, 2018

THE WALKING DEAD Season 8B Trailer

Out Of The Fire

The Walking Dead preview for Season 8B is here. With Alexandria destroyed and half of the Kingdom dead, Rick returns home to devastating news. Coral has been bitten by a walker, and all hopes to overcome Negan’s forces lies in ruins. Meanwhile, Negan has to take back control in the ongoing power struggle at the Sanctuary.

What I Have Been Waiting For

I’ve been watching since day one, and I have been waiting for that annoying brat Carl to be killed since season 2. Now at long last I get my wish.

The series has had its up and downs for sure, but overall I’m still enjoying the show. Negan has been an absolute blast to watch since he came into the show. Jeffrey Dean Morgan is literary killing it. I hope we get more of his shenanigans in this second part of season 8.

Based on the comic book series written by Robert Kirkman, this gritty drama portrays life in the weeks and months following a zombie apocalypse. Led by police officer Rick Grimes, his family and a group of other survivors find themselves constantly on the move in search of a safe and secure home.

The Walking Dead

The Walking Dead returns for the second half of its eighth season on February 25, 2018.

ANDRE THE GIANT Documentary Trailer

The Eight Wonder Of The World

HBO, WWE and Bill Simmons Media Group has released a trailer for the upcoming Andre The Giant documentary.

The documentary examines the life and career of arguably one of the most known and beloved legends in WWE history. It also explores Andre’s upbringing in France, his illustrious career in the then WWF and his few but memorable roles in tv and film.

Andre The Giant premieres on HBO on April tenth.

The Emmy-Award winning director and producer Jason Hehir is behind this ambitious documentary which combines never-before-seen footage and interviews for an in-depth  and intimate portrait of one of wrestling’s most beloved figures.

Interviews include WWE Superstars, sports and entertainment executives, athletes, media, family and friends of the Giant.

Small Beginnings

Born in 1946 in Grenoble, France, André René Roussimoff exhibited signs of gigantism early in his teen years, growing to more than seven feet while still only 14 years old.

Andre began his training at age 17 and quickly became known in various wrestling promotions around the world. In 1970, Andre made his Japanese debut, billed as “Monster Roussimoff”.

During his time in Japan, doctors first informed Andre that he suffered from acromegaly. It was also during his stint in Japan´s  International Wrestling Enterprise that he came on the radar of Vince McMahon Sr., father of Vince McMahon and founder of what is now known as World Wrestling Entertainment.

WWF and the BIG time.

On 26 March 1973, Andre joined the organization where McMahon Sr. famously billed him as Andre The Giant. Andre’s unique voice and athletic prowess, combined with his more than 500-pound, seven-foot, four-inch frame, made him an instant success, and a main attraction wherever he wrestled. He would continue to work for the McMahon´s until he left the WWF in 1991. During his fabled career he was involved in many high profile feuds with fellow legends of wrestling such as Big John Studd, King Kong Bundy, Jake The Snake Roberts , Randy Macho Man Savage and of course Hulk Hogan who faced off against the heel giant in the main event of Wrestlemania 3 in front of a record crowd of 93 thousand people in the Pontiac Silverdome in Pontiac, Michigan.

TV and Film

Andre´s massive popularity in wrestling made it easy for him to branch out into acting.

He made a 1967 French boxing film, and made his USA acting debut playing a Sasquatch (“Bigfoot”) in a two-part episode aired in 1976 on the television series The Six Million Dollar Man. He also appeared in several other television shows, including The Greatest American Hero, B. J. and the Bear, The Fall Guy and 1990’s Zorro.

Towards the end of his career, André starred in several films including an uncredited role in the 1984 film Conan the Destroyer as Dagoth, a resurrected horned giant god who is killed by Conan (Arnold Schwarzenegger).

In the same year he also made an appearance in Micki & Maude (billed as André Rousimmoff). He starred as Fezzik, his own favorite role, in the 1987 film The Princess Bride. During the filming he and co-star Billy Crystal became close friends, and remained so until Andre’s death.

Andre The Giant

Death and Legacy

On Jan. 27, 1993, Andre sadly succumbed to the illness which made him the giant he was. He died of congestive heart failure. After his death Andre The Giant became the first ever entry into the WWF Hall of Fame.

He is still to this day remembered as one of the – if not THE – greatest of all time.

Personally I can´t wait to see this documentary. Andre was a personal favorite of mine , and to this day I still enjoy watching those old WWF pay per views featuring Andre The Giant.

The US Trailer For WWI Film JOURNEY’S END

War What Is It Good For?

Good Deed Entertainment just released a new official US trailer for the WWI drama titled Journey’s End.The film is directed by Saul Dibb, and it first premiered at the Toronto and London Film Festivals last year. Journey’s End is based on a play about WWI, set in a dugout in Aisne, France in 1918. The story follows a group of ragged British officers, led by the mentally disintegrating young officer Stanhope. The three main officers in the story are played by Paul Bettany, Stephen Graham, and Tom Sturridge, and the cast also includes Sam Claflin, Toby Jones, Robert Glenister, Oliver Dimsdale, Miles Jupp, and Asa Butterfield.

This looks to be a thoroughly harrowing WWI drama with some gritty war scenes. Journey’s End has received mostly positive reviews, and it might be worth a watch. Journey’s End is directed by filmmaker Saul Dibb, who previously directed Suite Française, The Duchess, and Bullet Boy. Dibb also directed all three episodes of The Line of Beauty (TV Mini-Series). The screenplay is written by Simon Reade, based on R.C. Sherriff’s play by the same name. I am not familiar with Dibb´s work, but this looks solid enough. And the cast is pretty damn good.

Journey´s End

The play on which this was based premiered in London in 1928, with Laurence Olivier in the cast. A 1930 film adaptation was directed by James Whale and starred Colin Clive. Good Deed will open the film in select US theaters starting March 16th, 2018.

Journey´s End Poster 2018

Hey hey. I came across this teaser trailer for a film titled Assassination Nation, which I believe premiered at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival this week. The films official synopsis reads :

This is a thousand percent a true story about how the quiet, all-American town of Salem, absolutely lost its mind.

That’s a hell of a hook on it’s own. And the teaser does indeed deliver the crazy.

Salem is, of course, where the infamous witch hunt took place back in the 1800s, but Assassination Nation is set in modern times, with a concept of: what if all of our text messages and photos and everything were released to the public for anyone to see?

Didn’t South Park do something like that last season ? But without further ado here’s the first teaser trailer for Sam Levinson’s Assassination Nation.

That is a pretty crazy trailer and being only 54 seconds long, It really doesn’t reveal a whole lot. Which is how teaser trailers should be. Just a taste.

The cast includes Odessa Young, Suki Waterhouse, Hari Nef, Abra, Anika Noni Rose, Colman Domingo, Maude Apatow, Kelvin Harrison Jr., with Bill Skarsgard, Joel McHale, and Bella Thorne.

Assassination Nation

Abra, Odessa Young, Hari Nef and Suki Waterhouse appear in Assassination Nation by Sam Levinson, an official selection of the Midnight program at the 2018 Sundance Film festival. Courtesy of Sundance Institute.

Assassination Nation is written and directed by Sam Levinson. Its only Levinson´s second feature film. His directorial debut came back in 2011 with the comedy/drama Another Happy Day. What say you readers? Is the teaser enough to get you to watch. It certainly has me wanting to see it.
